Get out and active! We're exploring hike locations around the Atlanta area and will be following with a stretch session led by Health Coach & Fitness Instructor ARW Member, Lindsay Wenndt!

Hike the Cochran Shoals Trail on the banks of the Chattahoochee River, exploring the historic area and the river’s rocky, boulder-filled banks!

PARK AT POWERS FERRY IF ITS FULL

We will be meeting in front of the restrooms at the trailhead at 9 AM and start on the hike at 9:15 AM. This is an easy, beginner-friendly hike at 2.6 miles, all flat terrain. It's a very popular trail with lots of families, bikes, and dogs.

It's a good idea to bring: Tennis shoes are fine, and neither hiking boots nor poles are required. Here's a link to a longer description of the trail. Because it's a national recreation area, parking is $5. There's no attendant on duty, so bring cash as they can't take credit cards. Remember to pack 2 liters of water, a snack, sunscreen, bug repellent, poncho or rain jacket, cash for parking, and a first aid kit. Wear moisture-wicking layers as cotton is not recommended for hiking. If people are up for it, we can go to lunch afterwards.
